Be Legendary was created with a simple premise: Every person has an amazing legendary person already within them. Our goal is to help enough people to rediscover their legendary selves and consistently act in thousands of small ways.
Through our continued Legendary Experiences and our One for One Promise, we help people of all ages and background to rediscover their legendary life and how to act consistently throughout each day. If we get enough people to live their life this way, we will change the world and create a truly legendary place.
The Unintended Consequence of 9/11
Changing the world a pipe dream? No, we have already experienced it once before.
The tragedy of 9/11 had an amazing impact upon the world. Walking down the street in New York City was different in a thousand small ways. People looked each other in the eye. We let others get in front of us in checkout lines. We actually smiled at strangers and said crazy things like "Have a nice day."
New York City, and the rest of the world, was changed in a positive way. We were focused on connecting with those around us and consistently reminded of how we must make the most of our time in this life.
I want that world back. And so do you. Where did that world go? Why did we let that beautiful world of possibities slip away? We have never met a single person who thought back to that time and said they didn't like it. Is it gone forever?
Be Legendary movement followers believe that world is possible again, without a tragic event to shock us back to our senses.
For those of us living legendary lives, that world aready exists. We live in it every day. Would you like to join us?
Our Story
We began, and still are, part of a company called Repario. Repario is Latin meaning 'to rediscover or renew'. For years we have provided conference 'team building' focusing on philanthropy - giving back to the communities around each conference.
We realized there was rediscovery occurring right in front of us! People were rediscovering themselves and the inherent legendary nature that is inside each of us. But how do we keep this fresh? How do we sustain this amazing selflessness and emotional connection?
With no answers, but our emotional senses on high alert with questions in mind, we began seeing legendary acts everywhere.
These early seeds later grew into our conviction that we now know as Be Legendary.
But simply wanting it wasn't enough. We needed a framework to help us better understand ourselves and our behaviors so that we could begin constructing a legendary 'lens' through which we see the world.
That is when we began seeing children.
Children don't know they are not supposed to Be Legendary yet! As we began noticing children, we realized that early on we were all legendary. So it is simply a matter of rediscovering that legedenday self and reconnect with how good it feels.
A, B, C's of Be Legendary
As we began looking around at 'legendary' figures, we began seeing similarities among them all. After a great deal of study of hundreds and hundreds of amazing individuals, we realized they all followed this similar pattern:
A = Awareness
B = Beliefs
C = Courage
Most people that we studied have been recognized by the media, but after some digging found many more. They all followed similar storyline - I saw something that was a problem (Awareness), decided I might be able to do something (Belief) and actually did it (Courage).
This is a very simplistic process that relates to very small, single acts to large scale non-profits - all of them use the same simple formula for success and to make a difference.
Legendary Life
Through our process, we also realized that there are thousands of 'versions' of what one considers a Legendary Life. People fell into three broad categories:
- People who live as a model for others, consistently acting in a legendary fashion and creating an amazing world around them.
- People who seek out ways to consistently make a difference and do something, but their focus shifts depending upon their current interest or world challenge.
- People who target specific areas of need and make a large impact in that area.
