Twenty-five years, distilled into one framework.

Out of thousands of hours inside executive teams, James found the same truth surfacing again and again: the teams that execute aren't smarter or harder-working — they hold a small set of disciplines the others have quietly lost. He named them, and built a way to find and rebuild them. That's the Flag Model: a flag held upright by four cables, governed by one principle — truth over comfort.

A note on the name

From Repario to Be Legendary.

The firm began as Repario — Latin, roughly to rediscover, to find again. It's still the truest description of the work: every executive team already has the disciplines it needs; the job is to find the ones it has lost. That idea became the Lost Disciplines.

In 2010 the name changed to Be Legendary — less a description of the work, more a calling for the people who do it. Because finding what's lost isn't the destination. It's how an executive team becomes the kind other companies tell stories about.
